Mr Alabo said the state commissioner of police thanked residents of Plateau for conducting themselves peacefully.
Security personnel are heavily present in Jos, as Plateau holds elections across the 17 local council areas
He advised them to report such misconduct within the state.
Mr Alabo said police arrested another suspected bandit in the Bassa Local Government Area of the state and recovered some arms and ammunition.
Mr Sambo said that residents of the village fled to neighbouring communities for cover.
“He has also been briefed on the previous security arrangement.”
Mr Alabo said the CP warned criminals in Plateau State to stop crimes.
Plateau police commissioner Hassan Steve Yabanet directed the Area Commander and DPO of Pankshin to rescue the victims and arrest the suspects, who are still said to be at large.
The PPRO assured that the suspects would be charged in court when the investigation is concluded.
“At about 11 a.m., gunmen killed three persons and injured two others at a mining site in Tanjol area of Jol community of Riyom,” a community youth leader said.
