The Zamfara chapter of the African Democratic Congress has declared former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as the winner of its presidential primary election in the state.
“He can’t fight Atiku or Amaechi for the ticket of ADC,” he said.
According to him, he will continue to respect the leadership of the ADC.
He argued that democracy allows political actors to make compromises in the interest of broader national goals.
While ignoring his certificate forgery issue raised by Mr Abubakar, Mr Tinubu called the opposition candidate a hypocrite, saying Mr Abubakar is one of Africa’s worst kleptocrats.
“We also urge the federal government to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act and their sponsors are brought to book.”
This is contrary to the commission’s pledge ahead of the election that results would be uploaded from polling units as soon as voting ended on election day.
We are immediately filing an appeal against the said decision to the Court of Appeal as the struggle on this issue continues.
Challenges of delay in the arrival of electoral materials, voter suppression, ballot box vandalisation and incidents of violence in some states, created anxiety among citizens.
“What led to the endorsement is that our presidential candidate, Hamza Almustapha, is not contesting to win,” the party said.
