The command spokesman said identifiable security personnel remain a critical component of coordinated security operations.
The PPRO reiterated the command’s commitment to providing adequate security and ensuring a peaceful, secure inauguration.
According to him, Mr Anyakaku’s bank account was allegedly used to receive the ransom.
Mr Ikenga said the suspects were arrested during an operation in Nando, Anambra East Local Government Area (LGA), on Friday.
Mr Ikenga assured the public that efforts were being intensified to arrest the remaining suspects.
The Anambra police command has busted a child trafficking syndicate in Aguleri, Anambra East LGA, rescued 33 underage girls, and arrested a suspect.
Mr Ikenga said the suspects are currently cooperating with the police and providing useful information that will assist in uncovering other accomplices.
Mr Ikenga stated that the operation was carried out by the commissioner of police’s special patrol team on December 16.
Mr Azuka was kidnapped along the Ugwunaobakpa Road, Inland Town, Onitsha, on December 24, 2024, on his way home for Christmas.
