Mr Soludo thanked the communities, noting that their endorsement signifies the trust and confidence the people of Awka North have in his administration.
The Constitution anointed the people as the electorate. Yet, winners and losers in Nigerian elections are decided by a judicial selectorate that does not feel beholden to anything.
“The devastating floods hit seven of the 21 local government areas of the state,” said Deputy Governor Onyekachi Ibezim.
The beneficiaries, numbering over 600, were checked and treated for blood pressure, blood sugar level, malaria and eye condition.
It said floods had ravaged more than five local governments, mainly in Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelum, Ogbaru and Awka South.
He said the prospect of flooding had not been fully averted in the state, adding that local government areas were predicted to be highly vulnerable.
In the buildup to the Osun election, Mr Buhari’s regime launched the TraderMoni scheme, with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo spearheading the event.
