Mr Chinaka quoted Mr Isa as saying the action was to establish a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law-compliant, and people-friendly police force.
“Any official found culpable of wrongdoing will face appropriate legal sanctions.’’
She stated also that police recovered six stolen phones and the operational tricycle of the robbers from them.
Ms Chinaka explained that Mr Emezue was abducted in his vehicle and in the company of his wife at about 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
She said the DVC was kidnapped in the presence of his wife while purchasing fuel at a petrol station.
He was being accused of having unlawful carnal knowledge of the boy (sodomy).
The state police public relations officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, stated that all the missing children have been rescued.
The police chief said that the list included 58 males and two females.
She said the incident happened in November when the mother took the children to school.
“He was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple machete wounds to his head,” she said.
