The Chief of Civil-Military Relations, AVM Edward Gabkwet, praised airwomen for consistently demonstrating excellence across all specialties.
The air chief said modern air operations were increasingly conducted in complex environments, making careful application of air power critical.
He said feedback from local sources revealed several of the terrorists were eliminated as a result of the strike.
NAF’s spokesman AVM Edward Gabkwet said 10 overhead tanks and several gallons of illegally refined products were destroyed in the operation.
Mr Abubakar said that the menace of oil theft and pipeline vandalism had led to a significant decline in crude oil production.
NAF said that the location was suspected to be sites for IED manufacturing and storage areas.
Mr Gabkwet said the air crew also destroyed some illegal refining sites at about 6 km from Tunu in Bayelsa.
He said the illegal sites were located near Obiaku and in close proximity to the Imo-Abia-Rivers borders.
Mr Gabkwet said the strikes were executed at the stronghold of the infamous terrorist, Buharinyadi.
Mr Gabkwet also said the NAF was committed to improving its operations and was modernising and changing its approach.
