Mr Gabkwet said that among those neutralised were some senior commanders of the insurgents.
The Nigerian Air Force spokesperson, AVM Edward Gabkwet, stated on Sunday in Abuja that the air strikes diminished the capabilities of oil thieves significantly.
Mr BGabkwet said one the air strikes was carried out on April 5 at a terrorist enclave in the North-West of Yartsamiya Village.
Mr Gabkwet said both locations were about 50 km Southwest of Port Harcourt, the Rivers capital.
According to Mr Gabkwet, the commissioner of police commended the officer for his courage.
Mr Tinubu commended the NAF for standing as a dependable regional power and emphasised his administration’s dedication to supporting it.
Mr Gabkwet said the strike followed intelligence received on the movement of the criminals along the axis.
The CAS expressed regrets over the incident.
“Feedback after the strikes was also positive as it confirmed that the targets were neutralised and their mobility destroyed.”
