President Muhammadu Buhari and his security chiefs and ministers have warned repeatedly that separatist agitations will be met with brutal force.
The NSA warned that those undermining the Buhari regime would be trailed and “flushed out.”
The federal government has told the UN that Boko Haram and ISWAP have ravaged the North-East with over seven million Nigerians needing humanitarian assistance.
“Attahiru died serving Nigeria. Buhari, who went to Paris for four days, could not go to Attahiru’s funeral for 30 minutes.”
According to ONSA, the correspondence was a routine threat assessment to ensure the preparedness of agencies and not meant for public dissemination.
Mr Buhari’s tough talk comes as he prepares for a trip to London, leaving the home front on the charges of his lieutenants.
In 2018 alone, Mr. Buhari approved the sum of $1billion to enable the military confront Boko Haram insurgency.
“We have the resources. It’s just misapplication or underutilisation that has affected our ability to deal with these people.”
