Mr Ilelah said some of the stations allowed their platforms to be used by guests, callers, and analysts to score unhealthy political points inimical to the country’s corporate existence.
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has vowed to shut down broadcast stations whose activities can undermine peaceful co-existence
The complainer will provide the name of the station, programme title, time and date of broadcast and the essence of the complaint.
“The commission has decided to temporarily suspend the shutdown of the indebted broadcast stations all over the country,” Mr Ilelah said.
“All affected broadcast stations which fail to defray their debts on or before August 23, 2022, are directed to shut down by 12:00 a.m. on August 24, 2022.”
Buhari has sacked Armstrong Idachaba and appointed Balarabe Ilelah to replace him as director-general of NBC.
