Retired officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria have been urged to remain steadfast, loyal, and committed to Nigeria’s unity, security, and development.
In October, the U.S. and UK embassies had in a security advisory raised the alarm of possible terror attack in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, while evacuating its staff.
Governor Sule said alerts by the U.S. government are a common occurrence which their citizens are used to.
Defence minister Bashir Magashi said the terror alerts were making Nigerians unable to “take appropriate action.
Mr Magashi said security has been beefed up in the FCT and neighbouring states.
Mr Magashi said this on Wednesday where he inaugurated some projects at the NDA in Kaduna.
“I am urging you to give peace a chance and go home. We will get back to you as soon as possible and without delays.”
The protesters were joined by children and widows of late military officers who died in service fighting Boko Haram terrorists.
The regime says its “ultimate goal is to eliminate them all together and restore total peace in every inch of the Nigerian soil”.
No fewer than 64 inmates with links to Boko Haram jihadists are on the run following Tuesday’s attack on the prison according to Defence Minister Bashir Magashi.
