According to the NNPC, pipeline theft has increased since 2024, with criminal groups allegedly disguising themselves as government task forces to steal pipeline infrastructure.
Mr Sanwo-Olu described the project as an investment in people and the future.
A high-level delegation from NNPCL, led by its GCEO, Bashir Ojulari, is attending the conference, with Ojulari scheduled to deliver a keynote address.
NNPCL has called on international investors to tap into the huge opportunities in the nation’s energy sector.
“Foreign investors and international business entities are especially urged to remain cautious,” said NNPCL.
The NNPCL chief mentioned that the president’s economic reform had sent the right signals to attract foreign direct investments.
The statement quoted Mr Dangote pledging to collaborate with the new NNPC management to ensure energy security for Nigeria.
Mr Ojulari said the company would raise crude oil production to over two million barrels daily, sustained through 2027 and attain three million by 2030.
Mr Ojulari underscored the need for a shared vision of progress and performance for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The prayer session was led by the chief missioner of the Oke-Ode Muslim Community on Thursday.
