The Bauchi government has approved the renovation of the ‘blind workshop’ in Bauchi into a functional empowerment centre to improve the welfare of persons with disabilities.
The Bauchi government says it has procured 13 portable digital X-ray machines for tuberculosis diagnosis, worth $1.9 million.
“The five-week holiday is for Ramadan fasting, and immediately after the fasting, they will resume and continue with their academics,” said a government official.
“Jesus Christ had throughout his lifetime preached peace, honesty, love for one another and above all the fear of God,” stated the Bauchi governor.
Several nursing mothers in an interview lamented the hardship they are enduring in Nigeria.
He said the initiative was part of strategies adopted towards addressing hunger and poverty among citizens of the state.
Deputy Governor Auwal Jatau said FAAN officially adopted the facility in May 2023.
She said the gesture was meant to alleviate the hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal.
Stakeholders have called on the Bauchi government to establish sanitary pad banks in all-female schools to improve the menstrual health of schoolchildren.
