The development capped a weekend of anxiety after The Gazette broke the news about how Mr Ojulari was seized by senior national security and law enforcement officers on Friday night
The incident Friday night was narrated to The Gazette by national security and law sources, with some calling the operation a coup d’état because the president did not sanction it.
“We expect a surge of defamatory content in the days and weeks ahead, but NNPC Ltd. remains undeterred,” it said.
“We expected representatives from the NNPCL to be before us today to answer questions thrown at them last week on issues or queries raised in the audit reports,” said the lawmaker.
The revered media manager thanked the NNPC leadership for allowing him to serve in this role, saying he would continue to be an ambassador for the company.
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, as he clocks 60 on June 3.
The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited has given N531,000 each to 531 NYSC members to make them self-reliant.
Officials said Mr Ojulari took the decision to halt “continued value erosion in Nigeria’s refining sector.”
On energy transition, Mr Iledare said NNPCL should focus on reducing emissions while maintaining fossil fuels as its core business.
Mr Tinubu removed all the board members appointed with Messrs Akinyelure and Kyari in November 2023.
