“The northern elders are derailing from their counseling and advisory role to the government on national issues as it affects the region,” said the Arewa group.
The ministry’s spokesman, Henshaw Ogubike, stated in Abuja that Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru said the perpetrators must be brought to book.
Mr Matawalle solicited the support of all patriotic citizens to the military and other security agencies battling to rid the North-West region of criminal elements.
Those affected by the ban on the use of camouflage are the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Federal Fire Service, among others.
Mr Matawalle said that the President and his team were working to alleviate the burdens on the citizens.
The statement also denied that Mr Ogalla accepted bribes totalling over $170 million over the past six months.
“We call for patience as the investigative process unfolds.’’
“No case shall be swept under the carpet.”
The Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru, said attaining general rank in any military worldwide was an enviable feat.
He expressed confidence in their capabilities to lead with integrity, courage, and excellence.
