The senator, who eventually cast his vote said he needed to make some calls to INEC office before they sent technicians who came to fix the BVAS.
Osun was one of the few states where INEC first deployed its recently introduced Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.
Mr Yakubu said that the “field test” would take place in 12 designated Polling Units (PUs) in each state of the federation and four PUs in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“The repeated assurance by the security agencies for the adequate protection of our personnel, materials and processes also reinforces our determination to proceed.”
The politician said his optimism was hinged on INEC’s successes in the Anambra, Ekiti and Osun governorship elections.
INEC said the adhoc staff were abducted blindfolded and are being compelled to thumbprint the ballot papers.
Mr Yakubu said Nigeria’s current voter population was about 11 million more than the other 14 West African countries put together.
