The troops seized one AK-47 rifle and two magazines after a gunfight with the terrorists, “regrettably, a soldier paid the supreme sacrifice.”
The soldiers were asked to uphold the military’s core values of loyalty, selfless service, courage, discipline, integrity and respect for others.

The defence spokesman said the troops also rescued two civilian hostages while a total of 366 terrorists and their families surrendered during the period.
The victims were abducted on March 28.
Currently, there are three camps in Maiduguri housing the surrendered terrorists, with the fourth one under construction.
Mr Kurfi lamented that while the government dialogues with bandits, no nobody is talking about the victims.
