The New Nigeria People’s Party led by Boniface Aniebonam has blamed INEC for its setbacks in concluding screenings and fixing its primaries for aspirants of the party.
The New Nigeria People’s Party has extended the deadline for buying nomination forms for the 2027 elections by one week.
Mr Aniebonam stated that all state and local government executives of the NNPP must ensure that the politicians they accept into the party have verifiable records.
He queried why Messrs Kwankwaso and Galadima had continued their quest to hijack a party that does not belong to them.
The NNPP chieftain stated that he believed Mr Trump’s threat was a wake-up call for Nigerian leaders to be more proactive in stopping the menace.
“We are yet to see politicians who defected to the APC or any other political party in Nigeria at gunpoint, except for their personal convictions and choices,” he said.
Mr Aniebonam, “We must begin to have a rethink on humanity and how far we have neglected the have-nots among us.
He said that any protest now might be counterproductive.
On Thursday, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) said Nigeria was already bleeding before the emergence of President Bola Tinubu.
