A source said INEC would need sufficient time to reconfigure the BVAS to conduct the elections slated for Saturday.
“We won the election in Lagos state. We are not accepting the results.”
“The dollar rain in Ogbia on Saturday was effectively deployed to induce poor hapless voters who already suffer from multidimensional poverty occasioned by years of neglect.”
Mr Lawan stated his position as the Senate resumed plenary amidst growing controversy over the ongoing collation of the 2023 presidential election results.
In the electoral process, we cannot see 100 per cent perfection. People have to tolerate that.
The senator, who eventually cast his vote said he needed to make some calls to INEC office before they sent technicians who came to fix the BVAS.
The speaker, however, said it was too early to give an overall assessment of the process since the election was still ongoing.
“Without your PVC, there is no voting,” added the INEC official.
Mr Lawal, however, said that of the registered 2,351,298 voters in the state, 1,141,808 were female and 1,209,490 were male.
INEC in Lagos on Wednesday took delivery of sensitive materials for Saturday’s presidential and parliamentary poll from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
