Canada would begin with a 25 per cent tariff on CA$30 billion worth of U.S. goods, immediately effective Tuesday.
The leaders were greeted at the train station by Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
Mr Trump slammed Ms Freeland, saying her behaviour was toxic and not conducive to making good deals for Canada’s “very unhappy citizens.”
The announcement came a week after Canada said it would impose a 100 per cent tariff on importing Chinese electric vehicles.
“We are taking this extraordinarily seriously.”
“Since this conflict broke out, there has been a very scary rise of antisemitism here at home,” Mr Trudeau said.
Both countries have expelled one diplomat from each other’s embassy.
“Any foreign government’s involvement in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil constitutes an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty.”
Since the coup in 2021, Myanmar has been sinking into chaos and violence.
Both of them last travelled to London for the coronation of King Charles in May.
