The governor urged the federal government to extend the deadline due to unavailability of the new notes for Nigerians.
“The current daily limit of transaction to N20,000 is against the central bank’s daily limit of N100,000.”
“The CBN has massively supplied the new notes to commercial banks to dispense both at counters and ATMs.”
The bank operators are to appear on Wednesday, while the CBN governor will appear before the House on Thursday.
It was gathered that only few of the 21 council headquarters in Kebbi and their adjoining villages have a bank presence.
The public banker said the so-called cash swap policy will aid Nigerians living in rural areas to exchange their old naira notes for new ones from January 23.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has vowed to sanction commercial banks dispensing old naira notes ahead of the January 31 deadline.

CBN will monitor commercial banks to ensure they comply with the directive of loading the redesigned naira notes in their ATMs.
