Mr Nyamandi said, “The decisions made by powerful people in other countries have led to child deaths in just a matter of weeks.”
Copperbelt Province, battling the cholera outbreak since January, had recorded 206 cases as of February 9.
Zimbabwe has experienced recurring cholera outbreaks over the past years due to inadequate water and sanitation infrastructures.
The initiative was to support the state government’s effort to reduce cholera transmission, promote behavioural change and prevent future outbreaks.

The Oyo State government has confirmed that 27 cholera cases were recorded out of 245 suspected cases reported between January 1 and October 7
The minister said that handwashing with soap remains one of the most effective and affordable ways to prevent diseases.
He said 12 persons had died as a result of cholera outbreak in the state.
Mr Ojeifo said, “The only result we received from the National Reference Laboratory in Abuja last week was negative for cholera.’’
It reported 7,056 suspected cases as of Sept. 1, compared to 3,096 cases at the same point in 2023.
