Mr Bakare stressed the need for fundamental interventions, noting that years of leadership failure to confront the nation’s underlying crises finally came to a head.
“You are the lame, Mr President. I will never say publicly what I’ve not said privately,” Mr Bakare stated.
Mr Tinubu was on March 1 declared winner of the February 25th presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and would be sworn in on May 29.
“Entitlement politics will breed an imperial presidency that is distant from the people.”
He asserted, “Before we cast any vote, a new breed without greed will emerge.”
Mr Bakare also compared the N100 million he paid to obtain the APC presidential nomination forms and political ambition with the biblical Jesus’ sacrifice.
The controversial pastor praised Mr Tinubu for “capturing the whole of South-West” with Alpha Beta looted funds.
Mr Bakare acknowledged the validity of internal party zoning arrangements, but said such affairs cannot supersede extant constitutional provisions.
“I’m not interested in meeting you any longer; no more visits. Now, it is war because Nigeria must be set free,” Mr Bakare said in his July 25 sermon.
