Mr Tinubu has been accused of acting as mourner-in-chief instead of the commander-in-chief of Nigeria amid insurgency.
“I learned many things from him, from Mr President, but there is something I remember he said when he was governor in Lagos,” said Mr Egbetokun.
Mr Musa described the appointment of Mr Oluyede as an unusual occurrence in the history of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The president noted that the change in tactics had become necessary because the countries in the region were battling a “mobile and elusive irregular force.”
“We are proud of you. Proud of your loyalty. Nigeria depends on you. There will be peace and progress in our country,” Mr Tinubu said.
Mr Obi said that as the Commander-In-Chief, he would take responsibility for the country’s security challenges.
The administration fumed about a video released by the bandits and published in the media on Sunday.
