For a public that has grown increasingly desensitised to the country’s recurring crises, the mass abduction has sparked an unusually fierce wave of outrage and collective action.
“Only WAEC candidates and teachers involved in the examination process are expected to be in school,” a teacher in Ibadan said.
On May 15, gunmen abducted pupils and staff in Oriire LGA schools.
The party noted that Nigeria was fighting a war against insecurity.
Mr Akanbi said, “They have taken everything from me. They have ruined my life.”
According to the commissioner, there has been no direct contact with the abductors.
He said all primary schools located near the affected communities have been closed until further notice.
The governor commended the donor for the initiative.
