Aliko Dangote is seeking out more loans to facilitate the completion of his refinery in Lagos.
The police invaded the media company after the Dangote refinery spokesman failed to get the newspaper to pull down the story.
The soldiers who opened fire on the protesters were said to have arrived at the company in Hilux vans, having left their duty post at Numan bridge.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says giving tax credits to companies like the Dangote Group and Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas is good for Nigeria.
Senate has declared the Dangote, Lekki, Alaro City and the Lagos Free Trade Zones, which make up the Lekki mega free zone and the Eko Atlantic free zone, as national assets.
“Investigation is going to unravel those behind the massive smuggling activity.”
Dangote Group says its cement is cheaper in Nigeria than in Ghana and that it is losing dollar earnings focusing on the Nigerian market.
“They (the federal government) want to increase VAT, people shout. They want to charge the right pricing on petrol products, and some people say no,” Mr Dangote said.
The tax charge represents an increase over the sum of N50 billion recorded in 2019.
“Dangote model will likely be the one most emulated until its beggar-thy-countrymen contradictions become more apparent.”
