The police say six suspects have been arrested for armed robbery and cult-related activities in separate operations in Enugu.
The state police spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, said in a statement on Thursday that the command’s Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad arrested the suspects.
The command’s spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, said this in a statement on Saturday in Enugu.
“Findings revealed that on June 14, 2025, at about 9:00 p.m., the suspect checked into a hotel in Obukpa, Nsukka, with the deceased,” said the police.
The spokesman said the state’s commissioner of police, Mamman Giwa, had ordered a thorough investigation into the case to ensure justice was served.
The CP reiterated the command’s commitment to combating all forms of crime in the state.
Mr Ndukwe said that the suspect was apprehended while loitering suspiciously on a street within the Thinkers Corner area of Enugu.
The ritual killings among the youth and other crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping and cultism have ravaged the zone recently.
The warning was given in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, on Tuesday.
The prime suspect received N20,000 to let the victim’s children hear their mother’s voice via a phone call before paying a ransom.
