CAN also designated June 14 as ‘Black Sunday’ across all churches in solidarity with families affected by the killings and abductions.
The CAN president noted that Nigerians currently need “hope they can see, not promises they no longer believe”.
A statement by CAN president, Daniel Okoh, on Wednesday, described the kidnapping as a “brutal assault on shared humanity and the sanctity of life”.
Mr Okoh charged religious bodies to stand firm as pillars of support for the struggling.
”Nigerians are tired of mourning. Nigerians are tired of statements. Nigerians want to see action,” the CAN president stated.
He urged those in authority to prioritise the welfare of the people.
CAN extended warm wishes to the Muslim Ummah, noting that the end of Ramadan marks a period of spiritual renewal and strengthening.
Mr Okoh and other CAN leaders visited Mr Tinubu at his house in Lagos.
