Mr Buba said one of the injured police escorts died shortly on arrival at the Specialists Hospital Damaturu.

The troops were said to have also rescued 10 kidnapped hostages, while a total of 63 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and their families surrendered to troops.
He added that the troops apprehended 59 suspected oil thieves and other criminal elements and recovered 15 assorted weapons.
They also recovered 17 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, one bandolier, and seven empty cases of 7.62mm special, five motorcycles, eight mobile phones and N368,950.
Mr Buba said the troops also denied oil thieves the sum of N765.8 million and recovered 55 assorted weapons and 96 assorted ammunition during the period.
Some of the weapons recovered comprised 14 AK47 rifles, one AK49 rifle, two AK47 rifles loaded with 7.62mm special ammo and one PKT gun.
Mr Buba said the apprehended suspects comprised 92 terrorists, six gunrunners, three kidnappers, six collaborators and seven perpetrators of oil theft.
Troops also apprehended three gunrunners and rescued nine kidnapped hostages.
