Nigerian court orders third defendant extradited to the United States; decision pending appeal
The prosecutor said the defendant assaulted his wife, Blessing Nwakedi, by hitting her right leg with his against the bed.
“Ï suggest that a clear date be given to ensure that substantive justice is done to this matter.”
The magistrate, Oyenike Fajana, ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The convict had earlier been charged to the court on March 18, 2019, over the case of defilement.
Mr Nwajagu had, on Tuesday, prayed the court to admit him to bail on liberal terms.
Lagos State government dragged Mr Nwajagu before the court on May 9, alleging that his actions contravened the Criminal Laws of Lagos State (2015).
The 50-year-old man told the court that “I also want the custody of my four children because she lacks good manners.”
