U.S. urges ECOWAS to defend constitutional order in Niger and maintain “zero tolerance for unconstitutional change.”
The President urged African military institutions and states to recognise and respect the need for democratic renewal.
The two principal officers were elected unopposed at the inauguration of the assembly.
“This is a president that has not stayed even up to a month in office, but the problem with us is that we like things to come fast.”
He said his administration ensured an harmonious relationship between the executive and the legislature and promoted a culture of mutual respect and collaboration between the two arms.
“Given the outstanding profile and experience Senator Akpabio and his group are bringing to the table, I believe there will be new standards.”

Mr Buhari said with the apex court’s verdict, the main task is to make the people feel the impact of good governance, where a prosperous, peaceful and stable Osun is guaranteed.
The group said by strengthening the right to freedom of expression, the government could ensure a future where all other human rights are adequately protected and respected in Nigeria.
“God willing, nothing will stop the handover,’’ he assured.
