Belgium has returned a tooth belonging to the murdered Congolese independence hero Patrice Lumumba.
The chairperson of the African Union (AU) on Monday called for a “calm and dialogue” between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
A total of 12 cases, including six deaths, have been reported since the last Ebola outbreak on February 7.
Italian president, Sergio Mattarella, in a statement, described the incident as a “cowardly attack.”
The ambassador’s driver and a bodyguard were also killed by unidentified attackers.
According to the latest WHO data, there are eight Ebola cases in Guinea; four have confirmed.
“We shall keep a keen eye on it to avoid having to combat two deadly diseases at the same time.”
The WHO had last November announced that the previous epidemic of the deadly disease, which lasted since June 2020, has ended.
Guinea’s health department had reported that four people died of Ebola in a resurgence of the disease that first emerged five years ago.
