The Edo House of Assembly has impeached Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu over allegations of gross misconduct.
Mr Shaibu, through his lawyer, Oladoyin Awoyale, said the panel’s sitting to investigate him would amount to fait accompli.
“Today, we are just seeking leave to serve the parties by substituted means. So, can this court grant this? The answer is no,” the judge said.
“In the spirit of the season, I pray for continued peace, progress and prosperity for all Edo people. Iselogbe!!! Oba gha to kpere ise!” said Mr Obaseki.
“I don’t know about that, but let me say this, to say that somebody wants to run to APC, APC is not a rehabilitation centre. I can tell you that for free.”
“With the master plan, the state plans to generate N2 trillion in the next 10 years from the sector.”
“Their (defectors’) antecedents tally with that of the governor as a serial betrayer and the deputy governor, Mr Shaibu, a prodigal son.”
