The announcement of Mr Famodun’s death was made by his son, David Famodun, on behalf of the family, in a statement on Sunday in Osogbo.
The minister urged members of the APC to welcome the new members into the party without any discrimination.
Mr Babayemi urged Nigerians to pray for those in power for wisdom to govern the country right.
“This is because the state belongs to us all. We are all stakeholders and it is never and can never be an exclusive preserve of a few,” he said.

Dotun Babayemi said that the people’s choices must be respected through the ballot without coercion.
Dotun Babayemi is seeking to upturn the election of governor-elect Ademola Adeleke as the PDP candidate for the July 16 Osun guber election.
Mr Babayemi, after the court session, told reporters that the matter was a “family affair”.
The court is to determine the PDP flag bearer for the July 16 governorship election in Osun.
The court averred that the primary election conducted by PDP’s NWC was null and void.
