The convener of the Vanguard for Judicial Independence, Douglas Ogbankwa, said that money was often paid to secure bail in spite of the ‘bail is free’ inscription at police stations.
The activists, who are also lawyers, warned the public to desist from sexual offences and stay cautious during the period.
The prosecutor also alleged that the ex-NBA publicity secretary stole one stabiliser belonging to Ms Palmer-Kelvin and also forcefully ejected her from her matrimonial home.
Mr Ogbankwa, in a statement on Sunday, stated that the appointment of Mr Olukoyede as EFCC chairman was well-deserved.
The agency took responsibility for the incident and paid the hospital bills for the injured.
The lawyer stressed that ladies who deceitfully collect money from men under the guise of visiting them could be tried under the Advanced Fee Fraud Act.
The lawyer said the VAPP law has expanded the meaning of rape to now include any kind of touch on any part of the body considered inappropriate.
Mr Ogbankwa said the move would promote effective justice delivery across Nigeria.
