The police command in Lagos has interrogated three Dowen College students over the torture and eventual death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student.
“We hereby request Your Lordship to conduct an inquest into the circumstances surrounding this tragic death at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos State.”
The chief whip of the Senate, Orji Kalu, says killers of a 12-year-old student, Sylvester Oromoni (Jnr) of Dowen College, must be arrested and prosecuted.
Mr Oromoni claims the school did not reach out to his family during their child’s ordeal.
The government announced in a letter to the school that all academic activities, including online classes and examinations are to be shut down.
The school described the 12-year-old, who died after he was reportedly tortured to death by fellow students, as “a beacon of light for the school.”
The Delta government has called for a thorough probe of circumstances surrounding the death of its indigene and Dowen College student, Sylvester Oromoni.
Mr Sanwo-Olu’s administration had ordered the indefinite closure of the school following the death of a 12-year-old student, Sylvester Oromoni Junior.
The school is to remain closed indefinitely pending the outcome of an investigation into the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, a student of the school.
