Justice Ibironke Harrison of a Lagos High Court has sentenced policeman Drambi Vandi to death by hanging for shooting a Lagos-based lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem.
Officer Darambi Vandi had on December 25, 2022, shot Omobolanle Raheem in the chest, at Ajah Roundabout on Lekki Expressway, Lagos State.
Ms Harrison ruled that Mr Vandi has a case to answer.

“I took their AK47 rifles and examined the guns and out of 25 rounds of ammunition issued to Vandi, only 23 were accounted for. Two were missing.”
The 41-year-old, survived by her husband, Gbenga Raheem and daughter, was buried at Vaults and Gardens (Mayfair) cemetery, Awoyaya in Lekki.
Mr Vandi is facing one-count charge of unlawful killing. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Sporadic shots from the killer cop ripped the intestines of one survivor, amputated another and broke the neck of the third victim.
A senior advocate of Nigeria, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, on a live TV programme was obliged to recommend the outsourcing of the force.
The NBA said it was planning a befitting event for lawyers to pay their last respect to be championed by the Lagos branch.
