Mr Lawal urged participants to engage actively and benefit from the workshop proceedings.
ECOWAS said the workshop was also to support efforts to tackle drug abuse and provide resources and strategies for member states, particularly Sierra Leone.
The UN secretary-general has advocated ending the stigma and discrimination around those who use drugs and the expansion of prevention and treatment programmes.
“In 2018 alone, the agency intercepted 3.38 tons of drugs in Anambra State,” said the NDLEA official.
President Bola Tinubu has set up a special committee to tackle social vices in higher institutions.
“As mothers, we understand the profound impact that drug abuse can have on our children’s lives.”
“Therefore, parents, especially mothers, must, as a matter of urgency, rise up to tackle this menace,” said the medical doctor.
FG has announced plans to introduce a door-to-door campaign, which he would spearhead to engage the youths in all the 774 LGAs.
Mr Musa said programmes would be organised for women and youths to enlighten them on the danger of drug abuse.
