Mr Jaiyeoba said that the total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seized items was put at N192.2 million.
The controller put the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seized product at N28,924,397.
The team’s coordinator, Olugboyega Peters of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), disclosed this at a news conference on Wednesday in Ilorin.
The command said it recorded a boom in the exportation of non-oil commodities with about 2.5 million metric tonnes, above the 540 metric tonnes in the year 2021.
The consumables include bottled water, wines, ketchup, spaghetti, basmati rice, tomato paste, foreign parboiled rice, whipped cream, vegetable oil and others.
The items have a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N5,393,920.00, a Customs spokesman said.
The contrabands were intercepted by the Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs, from January to August.
“The NCS seized N28 million worth of goods in North-Central between April and May in 35 separate operations.”
Giving a breakdown of the items, Mr. Yusuf said the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the live ammunition was N3 million, while the DPV of the foreign rice was N36 million.
