Uganda currently has 58 confirmed cases of Ebola, 19 deaths, and 20 people have recovered since the index case was reported on September 20.
The likelihood of “importation to Nigeria is high due to the increased air travel between Nigeria and Uganda, especially through Kenya’s Nairobi airport.”
The 15th outbreak emerged when a new case of the deadly virus was confirmed in the eastern city of Beni on August 22.
Uganda’s health ministry on Tuesday announced that the deadly Ebola virus has broken out in the central part of the country.
WHO, in a statement on Tuesday, cited authorities in the country that the case concerned a 46-year-old woman who died on August 15 in the town of Beni.
The World Health Organisation says Africa is facing a growing risk of outbreaks caused by zoonotic pathogens such as the monkeypox virus.
WHO disclosed that all five patients had died, and 234 contacts were identified and under surveillance, while 1,013 people, including frontline workers, were vaccinated.
Trans-fatty acids, also called trans-unsaturated fatty acids, are a type of unsaturated fat that naturally occurs in small amounts in meat and milk fat.
Health workers have since last week vaccinated over 350 people, of which more than 250 are contacts.
The new Ebola outbreak was detected in a 31-year-old man who began experiencing symptoms of the virus on April 5.
