Mr Okonkwo said that there was a need for government intervention on the highway routes across the country.
The PPRO said one of the police officers was fatally wounded while one is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
The victim was on Sunday, June 18, killed by suspected kidnappers operating along the Ishiagu/Mpu road and abducted his wife.
“I do not have such report. We can only know about an incident if it’s reported to us,” Ms Onovwakpoyeya added.
A statement by the spokesperson of the Ebonyi Command, Chris Anyanwu, said the device had assisted the operations of the police in many ways.
An eyewitness said the suspects stormed the station early hours of Monday and started shooting sporadically.
