HOFA has blamed the recent hike in electricity tariffs for the high lodging charges in hotels in the Federal Capital Territory.
“The electricity tariff rate from N68 to N225 per kilowatt was never brought to the notice of the public as noted by NERC.’’
Notwithstanding the revenue generation, the company said that customers are still owing it to the tune of hundred billions of naira.
The company listed the affected areas as; General Hospital, Obadore, Egan, Akesan, Igando-Ikotun, Agric Road and New Igando.”
Ms Mbah said that the fire occurred on Saturday at its Adiabo 330/132/33 KiloVolt (kV) Substation in Cross River.
Mr Abubakar said the federal government had begun the construction of a 132 kilovolts transmission line in the state.
NERC said the reviews would put into consideration changes in inflation, foreign exchange, gas prices and available generation capacity.
Despite ordering a reversal of the hike, Mr. Mamman ironically doubled down on NERC’s statement on Tuesday which denied the increment.
The party says the 100 percent hike in electricity tariff will worsen the economic hardship being faced by Nigerians at this time.
