“Our political power has been reduced as we have a few senators and also in the House of Representatives; governors, house of assembly and local governments.”
“This is unacceptable and must not be allowed to succeed in Igboland,” Mr Iwuanyanwu said.
“They do it for some peculiar selfish narrow interests and Ohaneze Ndigbo condemns that,” Mr Ogbonnia said.
Mr Montgomery disclosed this when he paid a visit to Ohanaeze Ndigbo leaders at the organisation’s headquarters in Enugu on Tuesday.
The organisation said that it had invited various group leaders in the Southeast to find common solution to the region’s problems.
“We have seven Igbo governors, but they couldn’t manage Igbo interests as they were not coordinated.”
“Where were they when Kanu was leading IPOB militants to kill innocent people in the South-East?”
The Youth Wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide says the emergence of Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu portends a greater future for Igboland.
The new Igbo leader said he would set up various councils to see that agriculture, industries, education and businesses received the attention they needed in Igboland.
Mr Iwuanyanwu said the security situation in the South-East was very disturbing, adding that there was a very urgent need for a Peace Summit in Igboland.
