European Union countries on Wednesday agreed to set up a fund worth €150 billion ($170 billion) for joint arms procurement.
“Last year, the European Investment Bank reached a record €1 billion in investments in the area of security and defence,’’ Mr Calviño said.
Samuela Isopi, the ambassador to the EU delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, has put the trade volume between the bloc and Nigeria in 2021, at €28.7 billion.
The grant was the bank’s largest COVID-19-related healthcare investment support in sub-Saharan Africa.
The partnership, set to run for 12 years, is targeted at people and communities affected by COVID-19, climate change, and social exclusion.
