A memo by the managing director of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku, said Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo gave the directive.
Obiageli Orah, the spokesperson for FAAN, said the Joint Monitoring Task Force (JMTF) apprehended five suspects at the Lagos airport on Friday.
“We appeal and advise the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo to agree with us.’’
“You, dear cadets, are our eyes and ears. Commit all our civil aviation regulations to heart and be as watchful as the eagle,” said FAAN’s boss.
Aviation minister Festus Keyamo has ordered sacked directors of agencies in his ministry to hand over to the most senior officers.
While some heads of agencies in the sector were replaced, one was suspended and awaiting investigation by the EFCC.
Deputy Governor Auwal Jatau said FAAN officially adopted the facility in May 2023.
Mr Yakubu-Funtua said the expedited relocation to the new terminal was deemed necessary due to the fire incident at Terminal 1 on September 7.
Mr Keyamo directed the ministry to relocate the Dominion Air and EAN hangar to create an apron facility for bigger aircraft to come to the new terminal.
“For us, the cargo terminal is critical. You know that we are migrating agriculture to agro-allied industrialisation.”
