“These myths and social norms have negative impacts on their health and daily lives, restricting their freedom and participation in society,” said an expert.
“Additionally, fasting can affect blood sugar levels, especially for individuals with diabetes,” a medical consultant said.
“Six other persons sustained injuries in the crash,’’ he said.
He said that the NCDC would continue to monitor the situation globally, especially in countries where the new variants had been confirmed.
As of June 30, NCDC confirmed 798 diphtheria cases from 33 local government areas in eight states, including the FCT.
