OPay has announced an extension of the application deadline for the National Innovation Challenge from June 14 to July 3, 2026.
The federal government says it has budgeted N12 billion to support research in the digital economy in universities and research institutions.
According to the bank, the project aims to expand Nigeria’s fibre backbone from 35,000km to at least 125,000km.
The Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy says it will collaborate with relevant regulatory authorities to review its impact on the communications sector.
The experts made the call during a panel discussion at a high-level meeting on shaping an inclusive AI ecosystem for Nigeria on Monday in Abuja.
Mr Abdullahi said the training would also equip the participants with the necessary ICT tools to become competitive in the 21st-century digital economy.
