The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ilorin has warned filling stations to desist from hoarding petrol.
Petrol marketers have said fuel scarcity will persist in Lagos and other parts of the country until depots are restocked with adequate and quality products.
Three of the stations were said to have paid penalties to the government and were unsealed, while the rest four remain sealed.
The fire is suspected to have been caused by a leakage in the fuel tank of the filling station’s power generating set.
“It is now sold between N235 and N240 at fuel stations, while at the black market it is sold between N290 and N300.”
