The police command in Edo says it has arrested two suspected criminals who claimed to be hunters.
The Magistrate, O.L. Oke, found the defendants guilty on the charges preferred against them.
The Ondo police command says it has arrested a 21-year-old suspected cultist, Raymond Sunday, and recovered firearms.
He urged the public to continue reporting suspicious activities and crimes to the nearest police station.
The police say six suspects have been arrested for armed robbery and cult-related activities in separate operations in Enugu.
According to him, the suspects allegedly used falsified documents to conceal the true contents of the container.
The prosecutor said that the defendants armed themselves with dangerous weapons and chased people from their various farmlands.
The prosecutor said three GPMG ammunition and two expended cartridges were recovered from the defendants at the time of their arrest.
“But when he took that quest for knowledge to a gun range, picked up a gun, handled the ammo and fired it, he went from student to criminal,” said the court.
They were nabbed in the Rigasa area of the state on their way to Zaria to meet their gang leader named Garba for a robbery operation, the court further heard.
