Mr Offiong, a professor of chemistry, will replace the outgoing VC, Florence Obi, whose tenure ends on December 1.

The suspended law professor explained that he dragged the VC and others to court to remove his name from the allegations against him.
A seven-man panel has been set up to look into Mr Ndifon’s alleged misconduct.
