Ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, FRSC in Ogun says it has deployed 2,000 personnel comprising regular and special marshals to critical corridors across the state.
She said the accident was caused by excessive speed and phone use while driving.
On Tuesday, a multiple auto crash on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway left one person dead and five others injured.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta.
The FRSC official said 27 passengers comprising 25 men, two women and a female child were involved in the accident, out of which seven were burnt beyond recognition.
The tanker driver was trying to make a turning at the Lafenwa roundabout, lost control and rammed into two vehicles and the fence of a building.
The accident was caused by route violation by the unregistered truck which collided with the bus.
The diversion follows an accident involving a truck which occurred on Friday night.
“The unfortunate accident involved a Lexus RX350 marked APP 541 GY and a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number TTD 017 QR,” said the FRSC official.
Six persons died, and one other was injured in yet another auto crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday.
